database
Unity’s database allows you to maintain legal, Know Your Client
and other important information about various types of entities
from a centralised location. This main screen acts as a hub showing
summaries of share registration, accounting, WIP and billing. This
reduces the time spent searching for important information.
accounting
Unity has a general ledger, multi-currency, multi-company accounting
system. This module was designed to be simple to set-up, use and
maintain. The Journal Entry form has been designed for the professional
bookkeeper. The keyboard-only data entry ability enables swift and
accurate journal posting.
time
& fee billing
Unity’s time and fee billing system is flexible enough to
meet the needs of the most demanding company. Time and expenses
can be entered in a controlled manner with management reports to
monitor staff performance. Bills can be created ad-hoc or in regular
bill runs and once confirmed the billing system is integrated with
your office books to enable effective debtor management.

Crystal reports has been seamlessly integrated into the Unity program
allowing standard and custom reports to be added at any time. These
reports can have parameters that permit filtering, sorting and grouping
to allow a single report to meet multiple requirements. All Crystal
reports come with the ability to export to a wide range of formats
including Excel and Word.

The Excel query wizard can be integrated into the Unity menu system
and used to build reports.

The security system allows you to restrict groups of users to access,
change, add and amend each form within Unity. This can restrict
users from some areas of Unity entirely or allow some users to view
certain forms while others have full amend, add and delete rights.
Unity also allows you to restrict clients and ledgers to the members
of specific groups.

on functionality
Additional functionality can be integrated into Unity using programs
developed in Visual Basic for Applications stored in Word or Excel.
This ability allows us to meet changing client requirements quickly
without frequently amending the core Unity program.
Microsoft
Access 2000 front end
Access 2000 is used as the program front end of Unity. The speed
of the development process is greatly increased due to the inbuilt
data manipulation features of Access 2000. Reliability and compatibility
are gained using one of the applications in the Microsoft Office
suite.
SQL
2000 & 2005 database
Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft’s premier database solution
was chosen for its key benefits of scalability, availability and
performance. It allows Unity to scale from five to many hundreds
of users, utilising effective transaction processing to ensure data
integrity Unity has been tested with both SQL 2000 and SQL 2005.

model
Unity is licensed on a per-user, per-annum charge that includes
maintenance and upgrades. This pricing model avoids an initial capital
investment and ensures you are kept up to date with changes in technology. |
