In 1997 Robert
Eastham, Gavin Jackson and Paul Henty had a vision of an organisation
that would work with its customers to provide innovative, cost effective
business solutions based on ease of use, reliability and efficiency.
On 1st January 1998 they formed Offsoft.
The company has since been renamed Unity Software Limited to closely identify it with the companies core product Unity.
Each had much
to contribute; Robert was a partner in a successful Jersey based
firm of accountants, Paul had years of experience developing and
supporting business Information Technology systems and Gavin had
worked with several software solutions providers developing and
supplying business systems.
Together they
used industry standard software tools to develop a product that
would be primarily aimed at the Offshore Trust industry. Initially
the product was pitched at smaller trust companies although inbuilt
scalability ensured that as these companies grew the product would
grow with them. Strong relationships were built with their first
customers and working together with them the product was further
enhanced and developed.
As the business
continued to grow a support team consisting of individuals with
relevant technical and business experience was established in Jersey.
A policy of ongoing technical and business training was put in place
to enhance existing skills and develop new ones so that the team
could continue to service existing and future customer requirements.
Today Unity
continues to provide ease of use for the users and comprehensive
management information to enhance and drive the business. The product
now supports clients with more than 150 users on one server as well
as continuing to provide a solution for new and growing companies
with a more modest number of users.
Building on
the principle of customer focus the business has steadily grown
in Jersey and various other offshore jurisdictions so that today
Offsoft has matured into a business that services clients across
eight different offshore jurisdictions. Two thirds of these are
outside of Jersey.
Unity Software aims
to continue its growth by providing cost effective business solutions
using the latest industry standard technology coupled with a customer
focused business model.
